Caught In The Storm

I enjoyed you like a gentle rainfall
in the illusion of peach blossoms
heavens emitted the scent of passion
love’s profusion, electric sensations
I was swept into the soothing spray
an affectionate shower of deception

destruction struck in duplicity
guise manifested in a darkened sky
foreboding clouds and whipping winds
stark thunder of impending doom
abusively uprooted the sprouting tree
love’s roots had never been planted

danger lit the warning skies
there came a storm of furious rage
gentle rain now an angry downpour
shattered dreams, broken limbs
heeding too late the disaster warnings
caught in the midst of your abusive storm

  1. A torrential poem here. Sometimes one wishes one would have heeded those storm clouds (in life) a bit earlier before disaster struck.

    1. thank you true. we always get the little warning but sometimes the heart wants to ignore what the mind see and we always pay a price. Thanks for commenting ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. ugh…vivid…really nice build and then this comes on strong…just like life…when we did not see it coming and then dont know how to get out of the way of that storm…and the abuse…ugh

    1. Thank you Linda..yes, sometimes life starts out with a gentle promise and culminates in a thunderous storm..we risk so much for our heart’s fancy ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Bill for visiting and your encouraging comment..yes, often life is like a storm staring out with a calm and blowing you over with a tempest ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. oh heck – it’s sad when those relationships that start as a gentle rain end in a raging storm….so much destruction in the proces…it’s sad..

  4. As others have already said, Dorianna, this is stark and quite brutal in its honesty. #Danger hit the warning skies”, I love that. Thanks for visiting me and leaving such a nice comment. It is a pleasure to meet you.

  5. I have weathered storms in the journey of life
but, I was reluctant to see the truth that is why I
was caught in the eye of the storm. As my heart overlooked
    what my eyes could see..

    1. Yep, that is exactly what happened. the yearning heart told the mind to pay no attention to the warnings until too late. Thank you for your comment.

  6. “It always seems to righteous at the start
when there’s so much laughter and so much spark…..”

    Joni Mitchell’s words, of course.

    Thanks for inspiring.

Hope you are now safe from all storms, and will continue only towards gentle rains of sustenance to nourish you.
