Pen on Fire

Imprisoned Heart

imprisoned heart

Death on the Velvet Green

lying on
the velvet green
I dream
remembrance
of the gleam
your green eyes
lit with flames
how we danced
in a trance
licking at our lust
till hearts burst
with inundated love

velvet green

lying on
the velvet green
I scream
memories fade
reality strikes
nightmare awakens
pain again
an icy blow
that struck my heart
loveless goodbye
took my breath
an internal death

On The Strings Of A Heart

how is it possible
one day to love someone
enlivened with just one thought, one kiss, one moment
as if you’ve soured to the heavens
drifting on wings of angels

tomorrow arrives
effervescent beauty of yesterday’s lovetornadic_storm
metamorphic agony of today’s heartache
a tornadic storm
whipping emotions erupt
drastic climate changes annihilating
all that is tender

one wonders where the beauty goes
when love turns to hate

bemused by the fate of heartbreak
anguished by the storm
adrift on winds of inner turmoil
should one conclude
love and hate ~ same emotion
calming, sensual breeze
becomes a violet windstorm
nature takes it course
on the strings of a heart

Haunting Guilt

her image wanders the alleys of his mind
her memory lingers in a silent scream

when the moon is blue her vision haunts
a tormenting retribution to his soul

he calls out her name in anguish
there is no answer she is gone

he cries out remorse too late
her ears no longer hears his apology

only her haunting memory remains
no one to give absolution to his guilt

Caught In The Storm

I enjoyed you like a gentle rainfall
in the illusion of peach blossoms
heavens emitted the scent of passion
love’s profusion, electric sensations
I was swept into the soothing spray
an affectionate shower of deception

destruction struck in duplicity
guise manifested in a darkened sky
foreboding clouds and whipping winds
stark thunder of impending doom
abusively uprooted the sprouting tree
love’s roots had never been planted

danger lit the warning skies
there came a storm of furious rage
gentle rain now an angry downpour
shattered dreams, broken limbs
heeding too late the disaster warnings
caught in the midst of your abusive storm

Double-Sided Tongue

the vile tongue of hypocrites
does comprehend soon enough
a despicable tongue is double-sided
turns to bite back in due season
there is no respect among the diabolical

fiendish deeds are like a mirror
one’s acts repeated upon the evil doer
he does come to know in darkness
full recompense for his injustice
he weeps in sad regret too late

Damnation

visited the old house today
long neglected but won’t go away
once lovely rose garden hiding crimes
a haunting forest of tangled thorns abandoned
in all this time the ivy vine entwines
like a new owner on a rampage
trying to conceal the ghostly screams

the empty walls have no muffling
still whispers mock with dirty secrets
reminders of scars clawed upon my soul
so many skeletons these walls hold
closets filled with evil laughter
we tried so hard to hide
the terror buried deep inside

till these walls have died
every brick and mortar crumbled
secrets rise at midnight
with a mighty rumble
to dance an evil celebration
of the soul’s damnation

Rage of Confusion

thoughts ablaze with rage
encircles me in battle
screaming for the clarity
you treacherously withhold

muddied messages befuddle
unspoken promises raise questions
vulnerable without answers
floundering in mixed emotions

frightening voices whisper doubt
in the alley of my mind
fear runs rampant
disorder in my thoughts

words with double meanings
trace no clear-cut definition
swirling whirlpool of confliction
trapped in a rage of confusion
